Tests in our Daily Life & their relationship to Syeda Fatima Zehra AS
Different types of tests a person goes through in their daily life. Four different types of tests:
- Study a concept and prove your expertise in a school. Needed for progress;
- Physical test to show mastery of a particular skill set;
- Tests that are happening all the time e.g. consequences of doing something wrong;
- A/B testing to understand customer needs/preferences. The Household of the Prophet saww is a combination of these tests.
Imam Ali's valour in defending the light of Allah sets up the test of Muslims
- Narrations of testing the Muslims between momin and munafiq through Imam Ali AS.
- One question asked by Muslims to negate the event that Syeda Fatima Zehra's door was burned, is around the bravery of Imam Ali AS. Regular Muslims ask how is it possible that people attacked the house of Syeda Fatima Zehra and Imam Ali kept quiet.
- A/B testing.
- A: Individual strength of Imam Ali AS under different circumstances. 1:1 combat with or without sickness in Ahzab and Khyber. Proved himself while fighting with the army in Badr, Uhud and Hunain. Migration of the Prophet saww from Madinah to Makkah while Imam Ali was bringing the household of the Prophet including the daughter of the Prophet.
- B: Test of Muslims
Impact of the failed test of Muslims through the Household of the Prophet saww
Types of tests. A/B Testing.
- A Testing: Imam Ali proved his strength, valour, and vigour in different battles and circumstances. When people argue that Imam Ali was a coward that he didn't stand-up for his wife. It is not true.
- B-Test:
- It was a test of Muslims, who had just performed Hajj with the Prophet, and fought with the Prophet.
- It was a test for everyone living in Madinah.
- Everyone except for a few people failed.
Example from our worldly life of how things change if tests are failed and we don't mend our ways
The concept that Ahl-e-Bait AS are a test was not limited to Syeda Fatima Zehra AS. It is applicable to the entire Ummah from the times of the Imams to today to eternity. Examples from the life of Imam Ali AS, Imam Hasan AS, Imam Hussain AS, and all the Imams through the occultation of the 12th Imam, and during the time of the 12th Imam.
Standing up for the cause of Ahl-e-Bait AS, standing up against injustice, and highlighting what happened in the past and is happening today is a test of all Muslims.
We will be judged according to our efforts and not what was done 1400 years ago.
Recap of the concept of test and Ahl-e-Bait AS are a test. Tests are experienced every day in our life. Tests prove our worth in front of Allah. Different types of tests mentioned by Allah e.g. wealth and children. Blessings are a test - whether given or taken away, and again given or taken away. Allah mentions that blessings are from Allah and punishment is due to our actions. Allah will increase the blessings through thankfulness.
More Blessings = More humble/kinder = More Blessings = Test (loss of health, wealth, life) = Thankfulness/Be humble = Success in this test will take us to the next level = Realize that everything was from Allah and then you are not upset = Gain Maarfah = Ability to stand against injustice and defend the cause of Ahl-e-Bait AS
